On Monday May 21, 2012 at approximately 11 p.m., two male suspects broke into a Barton Road residence in Champlain Township. 
The suspects attacked the male occupant of the residence looking for valuables. The female occupant was tied down by the perpetrators.

ALFRED-PLANTAGENET – a 28-year-old Alfred man is facing numerous drug-related charges following a drug bust on March 7.
The members of the O.P.P.  Drug Enforcement Unit (D.E.U.) - Project Paradigm, the Hawkesbury Crime Unit, the O.P.P. Tactics and Rescue Unit (T.R.U), Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) and the Hawkesbury O.P.P. Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Concession Road 7 in Alfred-Plantagenet.

Acting on a Canada-wide arrest warrant, Edmonton Police officers arrested 32-year-old Pascal Hotte, of Hawkesbury, on Tuesday, December 11 after he was spotted by a police officer in Edmonton.

According to Sûreté du Quebec Sergeant Gino Paré, Hotte, whom police have been looking for since late November, was considered among Quebec's top ten most wanted.

Pierre Morand was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Police in Virginia have cleared the retired Lachute fire chief of any wrong-doing after a bizarre note was found in a Quality Inn Hotel in Hillsville, Virginia on Thursday, November 29.

Morand, who recently retired, was heading down to Florida on a five-month vacation with his wife. The couple recently purchased a home there.

Virginia police are searching for Lachute fire chief Pierre Morand after housekeepers at the Quality Inn in Hillsville, Virginia found a note allegedly left by a little girl.

Hillsville Police Department investigator James Alderman told The Review that on Thursday, November 29, a hotel housekeeper in Hillsville found a note that police say appeared to be written by a child by the name of Jasmine Hines.

Virginia police are searching for Lachute fire chief Pierre Morand after housekeepers at the Quality Inn in Hillsville, Virginia found a note allegedly left by a little girl.

On November 27, the Sûreté du Quebec (SQ) issued an arrest warrant for Pascal Hotte, 32 of Hawkesbury, who is wanted for questioning in regards to the murder of 32-year-old Grenville resident Marc Joly.

Police confirmed on Wednesday, November 21 that a 32-year-old Grenville man, who was assaulted outside an apartment complex in Grenville on Monday, November 19, has died as a result of his injuries.

According to Sûreté du Quebec Sergeant Benoit Richard, the victim, who has since been identified as Marc Joly, was taken to hospital on Monday night after a citizen called to report an altercation at around 9:45 p.m.

A 32-year-old old man is in critical condition following an assault that took place outside an apartment building at 291 Rue Principale in Grenville on Monday, November 19.

According to Sûreté du Quebec (SQ) spokesman Gino Paré, a citizen called the police to notify them of an altercation at the apartment complex at around 9:45 p.m.

A 56-year-old Vankleek Hill woman is facing several criminal charges in connection with more than $187,000 that was taken from the Youth Justice Committee.

The Hawkesbury OPP received a complaint in February 2012 concerning a possible fraud or theft of money at the Prescott-Russell Glengarry and Cornwall Community Correction Services.

The not-for-profit corporation has been running in the area for the last four years and is better known as the Youth Justice Committee.

A 25-year-old Gatineau man is in hospital with severe injuries, after running his car into a semi-trailer on November 13, while he was attempting to evade police pursuit.

 

According to Sûreté du Quebec spokesman Gino Paré, an SQ patrol car began to pursue the suspect when he was seen speeding on the Highway 50, near Grenville.

A rash of robberies left city officials and agricultural society members in Lachute sparking mad last week after a thief or thieves broke into the electrical buildings located at Richelieu Park and at the Lachute Fairgrounds and made off with thousands of dollars in stolen electrical components and copper wires.

Sûreté du Quebec Sergeant Marie-Josée Gervais told The Review that police are investigating both crimes, but currently have no suspects.

The Hawkesbury OPP are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a woman who allegedly shoplifted from the Pharmaprix Drug Store on August 28.

The OPP received a call regarding a shoplifting that occurred at the store, which is located at 900 Aberdeen Street in Hawkesbury.

In what police are calling a historic alleged sexual assault case, 69-year-old man from L'Orignal is facing charges in 15 sexual assaults that occurred between 1959 and 1986.

Roger Joly was a minor himself when the assaults on "a multitude of boys and girls" began, Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police said.

The investigation began after a man reported that he had been sexually assaulted numerous times between the ages of eight and 12.

Police said that more complaints followed.
Police said Joly was "well-known by all the families of the victims."

Another break and enter that saw a male assaulted and a female occupant tied down by the perpetrators has occurred in Vankleek Hill.

Hawkesbury OPP said that on Thursday, July 19 at approximately 1:10 a.m. police responded to a break-in and armed robbery at a residence on High Street in Vankleek Hill.

Two unknown suspects, one armed with a weapon, forced their way into the residence, assaulting the adult male and binding the adult female resident.

The Maison des Jeunes de Brownsburg-Chatham was quickly evacuated on Wednesday, June 20, after an employee discovered a suspicious-looking box full of wires abandoned just outside the rear entrance to the youth facility.
Fearing that the device might be a bomb, the worker quickly contacted the Sûreté du Quebec, who arrived within minutes of the call to evacuate the Maison des Jeunes, which is located at 385 rue Principale, in Brownsburg, as well as the surrounding homes and businesses.

All three men were transported to the Hawkesbury OPP detachment where they remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
All three men are charged with the following offences:
- Production of cannabis marihuana, contrary to section 7(1) of the C.D.S.A.
- Possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the C.D.S.A
- Possession of cannabis resin – solid (hash)
