The Vankleek Hill Review received four awards and an honorable mention at ceremonies which took place this past weekend at the Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA) and the Ontario Community Newspaper Association (OCNA) convention.

The Blueberry Hill Bistro may be best known for its dinner menu and seemingly endless wine list, but owner Chris Williams is hoping to make a mark in the local music scene by hosting a weekly live music event every Wednesday evening.

Alexandria songstress Shannon Hardy took the stage in front of a capacity crowd last Wednesday, armed only with her guitar and her powerful voice.

Hardy entertained the crowd by playing some of her original songs, as well as a vast variety of covers and even took requests from the audience.

As part of the preparedness for a possible H1N1 pandemic this autumn, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit has provided information on its website about how to avoid the spread of infection. There is also general information about the virus and its history.
