Brownsburg-Chatham couple proud parents of New Year’s baby

Though he was supposed to be born on December 30, little Emryk Proulx decided he wanted to be the first baby of the New Year born at the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital.

Proud parents Kathy Beaudoin and Jonathan Proulx, of Brownsburg-Chatham, welcomed baby Emryck into the world at 8:54 p.m. on New Year's Day. Emryck is the young couple's first child and is the first grandchild for both sets of grandparents.

Emryck was born by emergency caesarean section and weighed seven pounds, one ounce.

Both mother and father said they were happy their first baby was born happy and healthy and added, it's a bonus that he just happens to be the first baby of the New Year.

The couple told The Review that they have a "large family and everyone is happy to have baby Emryck join the family."
