Cannons, gunfire erupt in Dunvegan at War of 1812 reenactment
Dateline:
DUNVEGAN
The sound of cannons and gunfire echoed throughout Dunvegan as the Glengarry Pioneer Museum played host to a War of 1812 reenactment on September 25 and 26.
After a five-year absence the Glengarry Light Infantry Fencibles, a regiment that reenacts a local militia raised during the 1812 War, returned to the museum accompanied by eight other regiments. The weekend-long event treated visitors to regular drills, period music, children's activities, a noon-hour cannon salute, and a military fashion show.
