Foire Gourmande comes to Lefaivre, Montebello this Sunday
If you are a food lover and are always looking for delicious local food, then the Foire Gourmande Outaouais-Est ontarien is the perfect event for you.
Taking place this Sunday, August 29, the food fair will be held at two sites - the Lefaivre Community Centre and the Montebello Marina. There will be more than 60 food kiosks to sample and discover, as well as inflatable games for children and live entertainment.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and there will be a free pedestrian ferry running between Lefaivre to Montebello all day long, so visitors can check out both colourful sites.
Four guest chefs - two from Quebec and two from Ontario - will perform cooking demonstrations and talk about their love of local produce and food. Guest chefs include Jacques Lepage and Chantal Caron from Ontario and Thierry Deletrez and Gaetan Tessier from Quebec.
Visitors can also participate in the People's Choice Award contest, which will begin at 10 a.m. Visitors are being asked to vote for the kiosk that tickled their taste buds the most. The draw will take place at 4 p.m. and the prize is a basket of regional food products from Ontario and Quebec.
