Marc Joly has been spending time painting since he retired from PPG autogralss in Hawkesbury on May 1.

Now his giant works can be seen from Highway 17 near L’Orignal.

Joly recently finished three murals on the doors of a barn owned by Suzanne and Steve Huot.

The 12-foot-by-12-foot murals feature two colourful holsteins (a cow and a bull) as well as two horses.

Joly said it’s been nice to paint once more.

"It has been a while since I had painted anything. Working on shifts it’s not easy," he said.

This is the first outdoor mural he has painted since 1976.

Joly also wished to thank Adrien Asselin, who was his art teacher at the école secondaire régionale catholique de Hawkesbury.

"He is the one who taught me many of the techniques," he said.
