Higginson Tower student worker developing multimedia content
Everything old is new again, The Higginson Tower is another facelift - but this time, it's online.
Marco Heuvelmans, a 15-year-old student at Rockland District High School is very passionate about history and would love to pursue this in future studies has fittingly began his summer employment at the Higginson Tower. His job consists of giving guided tours and providing information to visitors of the tower.
But, Heuvelmans is also working on an assortment of multimedia content related to the Higginson Tower. He has developed a Facebook page containing all the information one would need to know about the Higginson Tower and, along with that, Heuvelmans has been using The Review's facilities to work on a documentary-style video of the tour. The video will be a great tool to help draw people to visit the tower for themselves.
As if that wasn't enough, Heuvelmans has an endless amount of photos that he will be using to construct a slideshow, which will highlight the restoration of the tower - from its early stages to the current state. The Higginson Tower is open for visitation every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout July and August.
Be sure to become a fan of 'The Higginson Tower' on Facebook, as well as 'The Review,' or visit www.vankleekhill.ca, where you will find photo albums showing all phases of the 18-month restoration project.
