Hudson Music Festival set to take place from July 28 to August 1
The 4th annual Hudson Music Festival and Street Fair will take place from Wednesday, July 28 to Sunday, August 1.
The festival is a collaboration between many artists, individuals and businesses in the local area. It includes feature "Salon" concerts at unique heritage homes located in the Hudson area, "Grand" concerts at local churches, and special performances at local restaurants.
The Hudson Street Fair will feature a variety of performances on the Cameron Stage featuring blues, folk, roots, rock and jazz performers, with more bands and singer/songwriters spread out at other locations around the village, a day vibrant with great music, fine food and wonderful arts and crafts.
The Hudson Music Festival was established in 2007 to create a vibrant cultural environment in the village of Hudson, Quebec and the surrounding region, through the presentation and creation of music, but not exclusive to music.
The goal of the festival is to support and enhance the performance opportunities of the local area musicians, both professional and amateur as well as hosting artists from out of the region (national and international) that will both compliment and challenge the cultural definition of the region.
The music produced and presented by at the festival is not restricted by one specific genre or idiom, but is structured to encourage innovation.
This emphasis allows artists (amateur and professional) to take risks with their work while uniting and exposing the region to music and art that they would not otherwise encounter.
Tickets can be purchased from the Stephen F. Shaar Community Center, Cunninghams Pub or À Temps Perdu. Salon and Grande Concert events are all $15 - $20, while workshops are $10.
Festival-goers can also purchase a festival pass for $50, which gives access to all events and workshops.
