Two Canadian judges visited the North Glengarry Township on Tuesday, December 8, to evaluate the town of Alexandria’s Festival of Lights as part of a countrywide winter lights competition.
Lisa Redpath from Prince George, BC and Gerry Teahen from St. Mary’s, Ontario came last night to represent the WinterLights Celebrations – the winter edition of Communities in Bloom.
For the first time, Alexandria is participating in the competition in its “under 7,500” population category. It will compete alongside the village of Valemount, BC, the district of Chetwynd, BC, the city of Rossland, BC, the town of Torbay, NL and the town of Carbonear, NL.
The results will be announced during the WinterLights Celebrations Symposium and Awards Ceremony in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island from March 4 to 6, 2010.
