Lachute Motor Mania activities postponed

The roar of engines and the dust of the demolition derby will fade out for a few weeks, following the postponement of the two-day Lachute Motor Mania event that was scheduled to take place at the Lachute fairgrounds this coming weekend.

The annual derby and motorized events have been postponed until Saturday, September 18, when the fairgrounds will explode with the roar and crash of the four-cylinder, six-cylinder and eight-cylinder demolition derby.

"The annual derby is a fun family event that raises money for the Lachute Fair and for the repair of all of our buildings. The organizing committee works very hard to create these events," said Lachute Fair representative Lisa Blais.

Motor enthusiasts who were planning to attend the weekend derby can still get their automotive fix by attending the Auto Retro Antique Car Show that is scheduled to take place this Sunday, September 5 at Barron Park in Lachute, or at the second auto show that will take place the same day on Main and Race Streets in Hawkesbury.
