Make yourself heard

As an English-speaking person in Prescott-Russell county, I have finally had enough of the arrogance of major chain retailers whose flyers are only printed in one language – and in the case of the Hawkesbury flyers, in French only.
I have news for you; we are a bilingual country, even in Quebec.
I phoned one company’s customer service line and asked why their flyers for this region came only in French, and were not bilingual. To paraphrase their answer, "We print an English flyer and we print a French flyer and because you are in an area with a large percentage of French, that is what we provide."
Yes, but why not bilingual? The reply: “It would take too much ink."
We, the customers, have the power to change these corporations’ thinking and policy. And that power lies in two very strong messages.
1. Complaining to customer service.
2. By economic sanctions; tell them you won't shop in their stores until all Canadians are treated equally.
It's not like we don't have options to shop elsewhere. Make yourselves heard or continue to be marginalized in Prescott-Russell and elsewhere.
