Municipality of Gore prepares Christmas baskets

For the second year, the Municipality of Gore is working with volunteers to prepare Christmas baskets for those in need of a little extra help this Christmas.

Argenteuil MNA David Whissell contributed $1,000 from his discretionary fund to help with the charity fundraiser which aims to make 25-35 baskets. The food baskets are primarily comprised of food, but donations of toys are also being accepted.

On November 28, volunteers went door-to-door collecting food and monetary donations for the baskets. Additional donations can be dropped off at the Municipality of Gore, which is located just off the Highway 329, at 9 Cambria Road.

“With people losing their jobs, the Christmas baskets are particularly important this year. Our volunteers hosted a number of fundraisers this summer and earlier this month, musician Alan Gerber held a concert to raise funds,” said Municipality of Gore Director General Ron Kelley.
