Photo gallery: Pierre Lemieux's year in pictures

Glengarry-Prescott-Russell MP is always ready with a camera; office has sent more than 100 photos in last year

It has been one year since Pierre Lemieux was re-elected for a second term in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.

During those past 365 days, the Conservative MP has attended a remarkable amount of events throughout the riding.

Lemieux is well-known for his monogrammed shirts and his ever-present camera.

He's also a big fan of political traditions such as sod turnings, ribbon-cutting ceremonies and of course giant cheques.

When Senator Mike Duffy visited in Wendover in May, he noted that Lemieux had visited 700 community events or council meetings in the previous three years.

This week, the Review looks at the community travels of Pierre Lemieux.

Whether it's a county fair, spaghetti dinner, Cub Scout meeting, community centre square dance, winter carnival or even 50th wedding anniversary, the MP is often there.

These photos — which number more than one hundred — were all sent to the Review by Lemieux's office between October 2008 and October 2009.

(With the exception of the first photo which lauches the gallery)

He sure knows how to market himself

He sure knows how to market himself. His face is everywhere, and constantly associated with community events, which is great. However, communities don't need their government representatives to be present with a camera at their events to know their respective endeavours are meaningful, they need him to make a change for the better. I say enough pictures and more results please. Mr. Lemieux is an intelligent and competent man that should put his energy towards progress and not PR.

Good for him.

It wouldn't kill our MP to spend more time participating in our community. Might be nice to see him do something for once. Pierre should probably start using social media. He'd do well, having his extended community see what he's doing and him finding out what they want.

I have been visited in my home by Pierre Lemieux; he takes the time to walk around and visit his constiuents , find out what they think and actually listens and gives answers! He is the only MP I have ever had that has taken time to do so when not actually out campaigning for votes. Thank you, Pierre!
