PHOTOS: Sheep to shawl demonstrations

Crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the Sheep to Shawl demonstrations that took place at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum on Saturday, July 18.

This spinning wheel was one of many on display during the Sheep to Shawl event.Member of the Glengarry Twistle Guild were on hand to demonstrate and consult with others, and would-be weavers were also invited to bring their own spinning wheels or drop spindles.

Members of the Twistle Guild of Glengarry joined forces with the Glengarry Pioneer Museum for a day of demonstrations called "From Sheep to Shawl." Visitors had the opportunity to take part in the early pioneer art of taking raw wool through the process of cleaning, carding, spinning, weaving, knitting and sewing.

A shropshire ewe and these two crossbred lambs were on display during the Sheep to Shawl event at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum on Saturday, July 17.
