Register for Vankleek Hill Carnival Talent Contest by Jan. 24

The Vankleek Hill winter carnival kicks off this weekend, but there is still lots of time to register for the carnival talent show, which takes place on Sunday, January 31 at 2 p.m. Performers of all ages are invited to participate in one of the following three categories: dance, vocal and variety.
There are three age categories: junior, teen and adult. This year’s carnival has an Olympic theme. Winners will receive hold, silver or bronze medals. Participants are asked to register at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre office by the end of the day on January 24, 2010. Music and props must be provided by participants.
For information, call Champlain Township Recreation Coordinator Janis Renwick at 613-678-3601 or Jackie Quesnel at 613-678-2769. You can email Renwick at: janis.renwick@champlain.ca to receive a registration form by email.
If you were a competitor in the 1993 Vankleek Hill carnival talent show, visit The Review’s website on January 20 for vignettes from that event. Step back in time to 17 years ago and see vignettes of their performances.
