Seventh President's Dinner a resounding success

Centraide/United Way Dinner

The seventh United Way/Centraide Prescott-Russell President’s Dinner, which brought together close to 200 guests in Rockland on November 14, raised the sum of $7,000.
For the occasion, the organization had invited Sylvain Bédard,, the first Canadian heart transplant recipient to reach the tip of Mount Blanc in Charmonix, France, and the first heart transplant recipient in the world to pass the 6,000-metre mark on Mount Sajama, Bolivia. Through the story of his exploits, Bédard demonstrated that nothing is impossible and that pride in living can take people to the height of their dreams.
To this day, the United Way Prescott-Russell annual fundraising Campaign has reached 91.8% of its goal of $250,000, having now accumulated $229,500. The Campaign continues until November 27. The official campaign closure will take place at Laplante Chevrolet Pontiac Buick GMC in Casselman during the second week of December.
Centraide/United Way Prescott-Russell was founded in 1998 in order to help local organizations within the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. Among 119, it is one of the last chapters of the United Way Canada family to be established.
