SOUNDSLIDE: Happy St. Patrick's Day, Vankleek Hill!
Vankleek Hill was awash in green on Sunday, March 13 as St. Patrick's parade-goers enthusiastically dressed up for the occasion with the customary Irish garb.
The town's first St. Patrick's Day Parade attracted participants from far and wide, like Martintown, Hudson, St-Eugene and this float from Dalkeith from Bruce McNaughton. Right behind are the Haven Crest Farm Quarter Horses, from Dalhousie, Quebec, winners of this year's "Best parade float" prize.
The winner for best child costume was eight-year-old Emily Lovitt of St-Eugene and for adult costume, Fay McDonald from Martintown. The grand prize winner was Tish Nicholson from Vankleek Hill.
Everything was well thought of to make Vankleek Hill's first ever St. Patrick's Day Parade as fun and authentic as possible - as evidenced by Limes Café's mouth-watering Irish-themed menu, created especially for the day.
