Strange bullet-like hole found in Main Street shop window

When Mandy Jefferys, owner of the Limes Café on Main Street, came to work the morning of Thursday, February 25, the last thing she expected to find was a bullet hole in her shop window.

But, that's exactly what she did find and she still has no clue how it got there.

"I honestly don't know what happened," she told The Review. "It wasn't there Wednesday when we closed up, so obviously, it happened sometime overnight. All I know is we came in, were sweeping up and noticed the hole in the window."

The café wasn't the only location to suffer the vandalism. Another window, located on the side of the building, was pierced by some bullet-like object as well.

Jefferys said the incident was reported to police, who couldn't say much about what happened.

"They weren't sure exactly what happened either," she commented. "They just took the report and didn't say much else. I suppose it's possible it was a BB gun, but no one knows for sure."

What Jefferys does know for sure is that her landlord will have to replace the shop window and it won't be cheap.

"This is an expensive repair to have to make and it's very unfortunate," she said. "It's extremely annoying and frustrating that someone would do this. It's vandalism and it's not right. Now, money has to be spent to fix it and that's not fair to anyone."
