Two killed in South Glengarry collision

Two adults were killed and one child was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday evening, August 3, along County Road 34 south of Green Valley in South Glengarry Township.

The 34-year-old female driver and her 48-year-old male passenger, both of Marcoux Road in Alexandria, were killed when their 2002 white Saturn crossed into the path of a northbound 2004 Buick being operated by a 70-year-old male of Vankleek Hill.

At least one occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The accident occurred at around 6 p.m., according to the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP, who are currently investigating the reasons for the Saturn crossing into the Buick's path.

The driver and passenger of the Buick were taken to Glengarry Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released.

A young boy in the Saturn was transported to the Children's Hospital (CHEO) in Ottawa.

SD&G OPP officers, assisted by Technical Traffic Investigators continue the investigation.

Traffic was re-routed Tuesday evening via County Road 25 near Green Valley and County Road 18 at the south end.
