Wine, beer and succulent local foods await you

The residents of the United Counties of Prescott-Russell will once again have the opportunity to savor unique products during the second Prescott-Russell Wine and Food Show, presented by Desjardins. 
The event will take place on Saturday, October 2 and will be held at the Outaouais Golf Club in Rockland. The participants will discover wines from around the world, sample a few local beers and satisfy their appetite with an impressive array of food from the region.

The show, which made its debut last year, was intended to be a local event. Its popularity however quickly propelled it on the regional scene; it now represents the most important Wine and Food Show of Eastern Ontario.

" There are many of us who enjoy good food and wine in this area; it is not surprising to find a number of renowned caterers that prepare excellent food.  The Show is a great opportunity to discover them ," said Martine Dion, co-founder of the show.

Thanks to a sponsorship and the participation of les Caisses Populaires Desjardins, the tickets for the Show will be sold in seven branches namely Rockland, Clarence-Creek, Alfred, Hawkesbury, Casselman, Embrun and Orleans (St-Joseph Boulevard location). 
Participants will also be able to purchase tickets at three other locations: the Outaouais Golf Club, the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club and Cheddar Et Cetera in Orleans.

True to its formula, the 2010 Prescott-Russell Wine and Food Show will gather over 40 wine, beer and food exhibitors eager to share their delicacies, for an all inclusive price of $45 per person.

Furthermore, a Port tasting workshop offered by an expert sommelier from Groovy Grapes is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. 
For an additional cost of $30, participants will explore Portugal and its world-renowned ports - attention port amateurs; you won't want to miss this session!

" In addition, the profits of the event will be redistributed in the community to help people in need, " said Bernadette Sarazin, co-founder of the Show. " The two charities selected this year are the Breast Cancer Society and the United Way of Prescott-Russell. "
