Two minor hockey tournaments took place this weekend, one in Hawkesbury on Saturday and one in Vankleek Hill on Sunday.

A Novice C tournament took place on Saturday. The Fusion of Eastern Prescott Russell lost their first game against Cumberland with a score of 2 to 11. Both of Fusion’s goals came from newcomer Louick Voyer. The Fusion team won its second game against Blackburn with a score of 2 to 0 and both goals again came from Louick Voyer. The team went on to the B finals and lost against Osgoode with a score of 1 to 2, with the only goal coming from Louick Voyer. Osgoode won the B final, and the A final was won by the Charlan Rebels Novice C1 team after they won against Charlan Rebels Novice C2 team.

The Pee Wee B tournament took place in Vankleek Hill on Sunday. The Fusion B team (pictured above), coached by Sylvain Labrie and Martin Cote, lost its first game against Ottawa East with a score of 3 to 0. The team won its second game against the Clarence Beavers with a score of 4 to 0 with the goals coming from Justin Chartrand (2) and Thomas Labrie (2), allowing the Fusion to advance to the B finals, which they won against the Russell Warriors with a score of 3 to 1. The Fusion’s goals came from. Thomas Labrie, assisted by Justin Chartrand, and Kevin Cote assisted by Samuel Pharand. The final goal was an empty netter scored by Thomas Labrie.

The Pee Wee B2 team coached by Brennan Austring and Ron Lapensee lost its first game against Ottawa Centre with a score of 1 to 7, the Fusion’s only goal coming from team captain Vincent Cousineau. The team lost its second game with a score of 1 to 5 against the Russell Warriors with a score of 1 to 5 with the Fusion’s only goal coming from William Lapensee.
