During a routine safety check on December 2, at 4:48 p.m., officers from the Highway Safety Division of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a 54-year-old woman from South Glengarry Township for drug possession.
Police say that a check of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marijuana and pepper spray.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized possession of a weapon. She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria, on February 8.
